The Story: 

The Flatwoods Monster, also known as Braxie, the Braxton County Monster, or the Phantom of Flatwoods, is a legendary creature associated with an encounter that took place in Flatwoods, West Virginia, on September 12, 1952.

According to the story, a group of witnesses, including children and adults, claimed to have encountered a strange, intimidating entity near the small town of Flatwoods. The encounter took place after witnesses observed a bright object streaking across the sky and crashing into a nearby hill. They ventured to the crash site and reported encountering a creature described as approximately 10 feet tall, with a large, round head, glowing red eyes, a spade-shaped face, and a dark, metallic-looking body. Witnesses also reported a pungent odor in the air.

The encounter left the witnesses terrified, and they quickly fled the scene. Some experienced symptoms such as nausea and irritation of the throat and eyes. The incident gained significant media attention and became one of the most well-known encounters with an alleged extraterrestrial or paranormal entity.

Over the years, the Flatwoods Monster has become a subject of interest within ufology and cryptozoology, attracting both skeptics and enthusiasts worldwide.
